About Gordon Lee
I am a UX-turned product manager from Hong Kong with a proven track record of using UX research to help products achieve successes. I am particularly interested in helping early stage products reach product-market fit. My experiment-driven approach is an effective and quick approach to help startups and new products launch MVPs at minimal risks.
Coming from a UX research background, I am well aware of the benefits and limitations of research for product success. "Knowing what you do not know" and "Knowing what are at risk" are two principles that guide me in my prioritization process. Success always involves risk but a research done well could help you achieve greater progress at less risk.
How did I start my Product Management journey?
I came across product management and UX design when I was doing my postgraduate research degree at the School of Journalism and Communication, Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). My research area at CUHK was the mobile behaviour of minorities like senior citizens, refugees and migrant workers where I studied how mobile network had been used by minorities differently. I was fascinated by how mobile phones could change people’s lives. This prompted me to think about what else I do instead of just writing academic articles. Eventually, I found General Assembly and got enrolled in their 10-week User Experience Immersive in 2016.

Upon graduation, I started working as a UX designer in Around Hub, a startup which I had been working for my final project at General Assembly. I subsequently worked for products like ikky, SmarTone Online Shop, AIA Vitality and LifeScore.
After years of delivering success stories for product discovery and product growth, I officially started the role of product manager at Haven Technologies Asia, responsible for finding the product-market fit for LifeScore, a AI predictive insurtech product.
